Our 5th Annual Family & Friends Campaign
Dear TACA Family:
Since I started TACA, so many people have asked me, “How can I help?” I have always responded by telling them to take care of their family and beloved children.
In the last few years, I’ve asked families to do one other thing—participate in the TACA Family & Friends Fundraiser. What does that mean? That means reaching out to family and friends to raise awareness about autism and to help raise funds for TACA, so it can continue to provide real help for families living with autism.
So many of our family members, friends and colleagues have seen us go weeks without sleep and struggle to find appropriate services for our children. They have seen the stress on our families and listened to our concerns about what the future holds for our children. Often when they ask, “How can we help?” we have not known how to respond.
The TACA Family & Friends Fundraiser is a way for you to give the people in your circle the ability to help your family and so many other families like yours who are living with autism through making a contribution to TACA. In just 10 minutes you can do a world of good for children with autism and their families.
The TACA community has come through in amazing ways—raising more than $200,000 over the last four years through this campaign. The difference those funds have made for families is staggering—we could not do what we are doing without your help.
This year the TACA Family & Friends Fundraiser is even more important—over the past year the number of families TACA serves has doubled. We are now reaching out to more than 14,000 families with meetings in 24 locations with chapters in California, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, Indiana, Tennessee, Alabama and Maryland.
We need your help to go even further this year and help us raise $140,000 so TACA can continue to provide 95% of its programs at no charge to families. Through your support you help TACA help your family and the many new families that receive the autism diagnosis each day. They need our help and strength as they begin this journey.
We can’t do this without you.
With gratitude,
Lisa Ackerman
