Resources for Teens and Adults

TACA will assist anyone affected by autism – regardless of age. Ninety-five percent of what TACA provides is free.

TACA is working towards providing some options for adults on the spectrum. Please note:

Much of TACA web and printed materials are targeted to younger kids. We are working on building up our resources for older individuals affected by autism. Please read "Does the Window Ever Close?" We are working on building more relevant content for older individuals on the spectrum.

TACA currently does not have a chapter in every state but all our materials and soon-to-be webinars are available to anyone anywhere. We are a very small foundation and are doing our best to address the ever growing needs.

Go to our Meetup section to find TACA meetings and other autism groups. This link includes an on line adult support group.

The medical suggestions on our site have worked with people of ALL ages. Some of these biomedical best practices are emerging and perhaps were not fully available to all adults early on in their autism journey. However it is important to note we have received wonderful stories back from TACA members regarding medical intervention for adults with autism. Read "Does the Window Ever Close?"mention two of these stories.

Where to start? There are so many things to consider. TACA has created a check list to get started. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Some of these will NOT be relevant. However, tracing back around to some of these items may identify issues that can alleviate some of the issues.

So much changes when adulthood comes – insurance coverage, assistance eligibility, finances, educational options, employment, housing and legal obligations all require a new focus. See the Preparing for Adulthood articles.
