People with detoxification issues, as many with ASD have, have a hard time clearing metals and pesticides from their body. Urinary porphyrin concentrations can reflect increased heavy metal or pesticide levels in the kidney and are markers of the metal burden in the body. Detoxification treatments can reduce the toxic load.
