Hire a special education attorney or advocate
It's highly unlikely that you will get through your child's school career without needing legal assistance of some kind. We recommend that parents never attend a school team or IEP meeting without an advocate or lawyer. We also recommend parents educate themselves about the law as much as possible so you can know when someone is not following the law and denying your child what they need. When hiring a resource, make sure they have expertise and case awards for your school district.
TACA’s services are limited to parent support; legal questions are referred to organizations with have expertise in this area.
