Encourage proper sulphation
Many children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have issues with sleep at some time. Encourage proper sulfation and help relaxation before bedtime to help reduce anxiety and aid sleep.
Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have proven PST (phenol sulfur-transferase) issues which are exacerbated by chlorine, causing increased behavioral problems. Treatment options include rinsing off immediately after getting out of the pool, giving taurine, magnesium sulfate cream or Epsom salts baths. Please contact your physician for dosage recommendations.
Phenolic foods also cause PST flares. These can be reduced or removed from the diet.
For children, soak 20+ minutes in warm water up to their belly button with 1-2 cups of Epsom salts. Do not allow them to drink the water as it acts as a laxative. Epsom salts baths can also help with night terrors.
