Supplements: Calcium

FacebookTwitter

To grow healthy bones and teeth, the body requires calcium. Not necessarily from dairy products, but calcium in some form. Fortunately, there are many ways to get calcium into the body. There are calcium-containing foods like leafy green leafy vegetables but you have to consume a lot of them so most doctors prescribe calcium supplements. Many companies sell them in pills, chewables, liquid and powders. Depending on weight, 600-1200mg per day is the Recommended Daily Allowance. Please see your doctor for dosing and monitoring.
