Hourly Rate: Competitive, commensurate with experience (expected range: $70,000–$85,000 annually), plus benefits

Hours Per Week: 40 hours

Work Location: Onsite, Irvine California 

Schedule: Weekdays, with some flexibility in schedule, including some weekends and evenings as required by various events.

Position Overview

The Senior Marketing Manager will lead and execute a comprehensive, data-driven marketing strategy that fuels organizational growth, strengthens brand credibility, and supports earned revenue, fundraising, and audience engagement. 

This is a hands-on, outcomes-oriented role for an experienced marketer who enjoys both building and optimizing. The Senior Marketing Manager owns day-to-day execution while being accountable for measurable growth across digital channels. 

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in digital marketing, content strategy, and performance optimization, and thrives in a lean, mission-driven environment where marketing directly supports impact and sustainability. 

Key Responsibilities   

  • Marketing Strategy & Execution   
  • Translate organizational and digital strategy into a clear, actionable marketing roadmap   
  • Own campaign planning, execution, and optimization across channels   
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on implementation 
  • Lead and manage a team of 2 marketing, communication and creative professionals    

Growth & Performance Accountability   

  • Own and deliver against growth KPIs including audience growth, engagement, conversion, and retention   
  • Track and report performance metrics, insights, and recommendations to leadership   
  • Continuously test, learn, and optimize to improve outcomes   

Digital, Content & Lifecycle Marketing   

  • Lead digital marketing efforts across website, email, content distribution, and social channels   
  • Oversee email marketing, audience segmentation, and lifecycle journeys  
  • Ensure consistent, compelling messaging aligned to brand and audience needs   

Audience Engagement & Revenue Support   

  • Support growth of membership, subscription, and digital program offerings   
  • Partner with fundraising and development teams to support campaigns, donor communications, and stewardship   
  • Create clear, compelling messaging that articulates value, outcomes, and impact   

Data, Budget & Vendor Management   

  • Use data and analytics to guide decisions and measure success   
  • Manage the marketing budget and allocate spend for maximum impact   
  • Manage and collaborate with external vendors, freelancers, or agencies as needed   

Cross-Functional Collaboration   

  • Work closely with program, fundraising, and operations teams to ensure alignment   
  • Serve as a collaborative partner and trusted marketing lead across the organization   
  • Contribute to a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement   

Qualifications & Experience   

  • 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, ideally in nonprofit, education, healthcare, or mission-driven organizations   
  • 2+ years of people management experience  
  • Demonstrated success executing integrated digital marketing strategies   
  • Strong experience with email marketing, content strategy, web, and social channels   
  • Proven ability to drive and measure growth outcomes (engagement, conversion, retention)   
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to inform decisions   
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills   
  • Comfortable working in lean, fast-moving environments with multiple priorities   

Preferred Experience   

  • Experience supporting subscription, membership, or recurring revenue models   
  • Familiarity with EveryAction CRM, email marketing platforms, and marketing automation tools   
  • Experience managing modest paid digital campaigns (search, social, retargeting)   
  • Experience collaborating closely with fundraising and program teams
