We need your help with two great opportunities to support Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) and the families we serve.
SCHOOL DISTRICT ROUNDTABLE
TACA is pleased to host our 11th Annual School District Roundtable on November 16, 2013 from 12:00pm – 3:30pm. TACA is reaching out to local special education attorneys and advocates to participate in the roundtable and facilitate group discussions. Attorney volunteers will moderate the groups to keep discussions on target and make sure all attendees have an opportunity to participate.
The goal of the annual TACA School District Roundtable meeting is to:

Connect parents of children with special needs to other parents within their community

Discuss school district high points and potential issues
|
| - |
Review useful resources within the district (i.e. school settings, teachers, parent resources etc.)
|
| - |
Recommend Non Public Agencies (NPA) that provide services to special needs children within their district
|
| - |
Allow parents to share important information about their children |
| |
|
Volunteer moderators will have a one (1) hour orientation prior to the event. Lunch will be provided. Parents will arrive at 1:00 p.m. and will be separated into groups by school district to the greatest extent possible. We expect to have parents from school districts throughout Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, and Imperial Counties in attendance.

TACA’S PROBONO ATTORNEY PANEL (Orange County)
In 2013 TACA made some exciting changes to its Legal Advocacy Program. We successfully launched our new Pro Bono Attorney Panel and Legal Clinic Program. In order to assist more families and broaden our scope of services, we altered our service model. We are helping even more families by taking advantage of the expertise of community partners like you to assist TACA families who are struggling to navigate the special education and regional center systems. We are seeking attorneys and advocates to volunteer their services for the following opportunities:

Free one-hour legal consultations to referred TACA families

School District Roundtable

| - |
Monthly Legal Clinics at the TACA office in Irvine, CA |

We will discuss this new program and give you the chance to sign-up to help with any of these opportunities at an information session on November 16, 2013 at 12:00 pm, prior to our School District Roundtable. Lunch will be provided. You do not need to attend this meeting to volunteer for the Pro Bono Panel.
