April is Autism ACTION MONTH

Having a child with autism leading into autism awareness month seems like an oxy-moron. Oh yes, we are so aware about autism. What you have to ask yourself – are your family members, neighbors, co-workers, and friends aware of how they can be helping?

TACA has prepared some quick ways to TAKE ACTION DURING APRIL to help TACA help families living with autism. We are hoping you will make a difference this April.

EVENTS: There are many events happening during April in honor of Autism ACTION month – please plug into those activities here.

FAMILIES & FRIENDS

The Family & Friends Campaign was created 7 years ago to build awareness and support for families affected by autism. Each year hundreds of volunteers reach out to their community through the Family & Friends Campaign to raise funds & awareness for the great work TACA is doing to provide education, empowerment and support to families across the U.S.

We’re aiming to raise $105,000 by the end of June, and we need your support!

ANNOUNCING MAPS

Parents of children living on the autism spectrum should be excited about MAPS. In 2012, the MAPS physicians training and certification group is the next generation in physician leadership for chronic conditions including autism. I am very excited about assisting with this important project and know this will provide great assistance to families looking for answers and positive treatments for their children.

I want to thank Dr Rossignol for leading this effort along with Dr David Berger to help families and build community for these much needed physicians.
