UPCOMING ORANGE COUNTY CHAPTER MEETING
12th Annual School District Roundtable
Saturday, November 8, 2014
- 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
- TACA National Office
2222 Martin Street, Suite 140
Irvine, CA 92612
This event is free, however an RSVP is Required.
Parents only, no school district personnel permitted.
Parents from school districts across Southern California discuss school related issues in groups moderated by local special education attorneys.
Do you need help in navigating your child’s special education? Would you like to know if your child is receiving the services he/she is entitled to? Would you like to hear ideas for new IEP goals and learn about resources within your school district? Attendees will be divided into small groups and organized by school district. To help facilitate the meeting, TACA has sought the assistance of local special education attorneys and advocates to participate in the group discussions. These volunteers will moderate the groups to stay on target and to make sure everyone has an opportunity to participate.
The goal of this IEP Roundtable Meeting is:
-Connect special needs parents to other parents within their own community.
-Discuss district high points and possible issues.
-
-
Review good resources within the district (i.e. school settings, teachers, parent resources etc.).
-Get your questions answered by local attorneys and/or advocates working within your community.
-Use the time to share important information about our children.

At Autism Spectrum Consultants, Inc., we proudly offer exceptional research based Applied Behavior Analysis services by providing TREATMENT WITH HEART. Regardless of where the child, teen, or adult falls on the autism spectrum, ASC can design and implement an individualized, comprehensive behavioral and educational program that addresses the unique needs of the client. Visit us at www.autismconsultants.com
Dr. Brian Ley is passionate about the optimal oral health of autistic patients and their families. Through his program we create a special Individualized Dental Plan (IDP) for your child that is unique to them. It helps set up objectives and goals that are individualized for your child for both the dental office visit and daily home care. We work in collaboration with your ABA and/or OT therapist to help make each dental visit a success. We see children on the spectrum during non-typical business hours where they are the only patient in the office and our sole-focus is on them, thus minimizing distractions. Although we do not object to sedation techniques, our primary goal is to use therapy to help the child overcome dental anxiety in order to use the least amount of sedation necessary to provide optimal life-long oral health.
We have special select days where we have dental office “outings” or “field trips,” which is open to all parents and ABA companies to help desensitize children on the autism spectrum. It is a fun day where the children can sit in the dental chair, wear a bib, watch their favorite movie/show and if possible have a quick tooth-brushing session with Dr. Ley. Ask us about dental home visits.
