5th Annual Ride for Autism
Saturday, August 4, 2012

Join TACA and autism supporters and motorcycle enthusiasts at this 5th annual event once again featuring celebrity host Dean McDermott. The route will begin at Laidlaw Harley Davidson in La Puente and end at the Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas.

Pacific Symphony Heartstrings

TACA and Pacific Symphony Heartstrings Program have partnered together to bring music to our community by presenting two special free events for TACA families.

Heartstrings is a major community-wide program providing free access to concerts, hands-on enrichment activities and transportation for a range of underserved local residents in partnership with Orange County agencies. Live music experiences are customized to help Heartstrings Partner organizations fulfill their missions and to have the most meaningful impact on participants. Pacific Symphony is committed to sharing the joy and power of music with all Orange County residents, regardless of their age, background, socio-economic conditions or other circumstances.

Flutist Cynthia B. Ellis is a member of Pacific Symphony playing solo piccolo since 1979 and frequently serves as principal flutist for touring ballet companies on their Orange County stops including American Ballet Theater, Royal Ballet of London, Stuttgart Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet. She was appointed principal flutist for the Opera Pacific Orchestra in 1993 and served in that capacity until the company's closure in 2008. She has recorded with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Pacific Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as on several major motion picture and cartoon soundtracks.

Harpist Michelle Temple has been a member of Pacific Symphony since 1994, and was named principal harp with the Santa Barbara Symphony in 1991. Enjoying frequent visits to her hometown, she also serves as principal harp for Opera Santa Barbara. An active freelancer, Temple delights in playing a wide variety of musical styles and instrument combinations. She earned her advanced degrees from Indiana University and the University of Southern California.

Johnny Depp stars as the unforgettable Jack Sparrow in 2003's blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" while the gifted men and women of Pacific Symphony perform Klaus Badelt and Hans Zimmer’s high energy, thunderous soundtrack live!

Tickets can be picked-up at the box office Will Call window at Verizon Amphitheater on concert night. Parking is $10.00 per car

Shuttle service from the main gate to the amphitheater is provided for mobility-impaired patrons from 6 to 7:45 p.m. and back again after the concert.
Gates open at 6 p.m. for picnicking. Food and beverages are allowed in the amphitheater.

If you have had the opportunity to attend one of TACAs free events in the past, we ask that you please allow this opportunity to be awarded to a family who has not yet had a chance to attend one of our events.

TACA's 6th Annual Ante Up for Autism

On Saturday, October 6th, 2012 Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) will once again be the beneficiary of one of the most insane events to date- the Gladiator Rock'n Run at the World Famous Rose Bowl. The 5K and 10K course challenges all participants to conquer extreme obstacles and harsh terrain, then to celebrate their conquests with a post race party filled with music, food and autism supporters!

Dave and Buster's Charity Golf Classic
November 18 & 19, 2012

Golfers- plan to join us on Monday morning as we tee up at the Aliso Viejo Country Club, where you’ll find one of only two private Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses in Orange County.  

Registration begins at 9:00 am with an 11:00 am tee time.

Sponsorship and Individual Golfer Spots are available but will go quickly!
