Michael J. Cameron, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA

Dr. Michael J. Cameron, a licensed and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, is the Director of the Interdisciplinary Behavioral Intervention Unit at Children’s Hospital of Orange (CHOC) and the Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopmental Center. Simultaneously, Dr. Cameron is a faculty member in the Department of Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis graduate program at the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles. His teaching portfolio includes courses in Child Development, Developmental Psychology, Organizational Behavior Management, Behavioral Assessment, and Clinical Practice. Before joining CHOC, he served as the Chief Clinical Officer at Springtide Child Development. Dr. Cameron’s extensive professional expertise ranges from treating severe problem behavior to behavioral intervention technologies, interdisciplinary service delivery, knowledge management, and behavioral medicine. Additionally, he excels in behavioral health assessment, designing intervention strategies for diverse populations, and higher education. Dr. Cameron had a significant tenure as an Associate Professor and Founding Chair of the Department of Behavior Analysis at Simmons University. During his time there, he also held appointments in the Departments of Language and Literacy and Special Education. His academic credentials are underpinned by a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology, both from Northeastern University.
