The Monthly Learning Series on GI will focus on the critical connection between gastrointestinal (GI) health and autism. Many individuals with autism experience GI issues that can significantly impact behavior, learning, and overall quality of life. We'll delve into how GI issues, such as constipation, diarrhea, reflux, and food intolerances, can serve as underlying contributing factors to the behaviors and challenges often faced by individuals with autism. These challenges may manifest as irritability, anxiety, sleep disturbances, or difficulty concentrating. We can explore practical strategies for managing these symptoms by understanding this connection. Learn about the role of diet, probiotics, and other interventions in promoting gut health and improving the well-being of your loved one with autism.

The Autism Community in Action (TACA) provides general information regarding medical research, treatment options, therapies and nutrition to the autism community. The information comes from a variety of sources and is not independently verified by TACA. Nothing presented in print or at meetings should be construed as medical or legal advice. Always consult your child's doctor regarding his or her individual needs.
