This year’s Hope 4 Hanna run/walk against autism was the biggest in the San Clemente event’s three-year history, with some 500 people registered for the 5K and 10K races and 200 kids in the ½K, according to co-founder Lene Belden, whose autistic daughter, Hanna, 7, is the event’s namesake.

Sunday’s event at Plaza Pacifica shopping center raised $80,000 for various autismrelated programs and services, Belden said. It was sponsored by Trace3, an Irvine information-technology company, and featured a Walka for TACA superhero challenge and costume parade to promote Talk About Curing Autism, a nationwide organization dedicated to helping families dealing with autism.
