The Autism Community in Action (TACA) is honored to announce the appointment of Kim DeAllen and Ross Mitchell to TACA’s Autism Ambassadors Group. Established in 2010, the mission of this group of business and philanthropic leaders is to garner support and increase awareness for TACA and autism.
DeAllen has a wide scope of experience in philanthropy. She serves as the Senior Advisor for Walking Softer, a non-profit organization with the mission to inform, inspire, and support change-makers to take bold and immediate action in the conservation and regeneration of our planet. She has a heart for children-centered philanthropy and serves on the Segerstrom Center for the Arts A2A Board. In 2022 she was recognized as a Newport Beach Distinguished Citizen.
DeAllen was a member of the founding team of Alder (formerly Gen Next) and the Director of Corporate and Community Relations at Makar Properties. It was her philanthropic experience in Rehoboth, Namibia that led her to exit a career in television production to help more leaders achieve a triple bottom line in doing well while being outwardly focused.
She is a Colorado native who obtained a bachelor’s degree in film/television and a master’s in education from Chapman University as well as a certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility from Harvard Business School.
In Mitchell’s role as President of Dunbar Real Estate Investment Management, he has overall responsibility for the firm’s commercial real estate investment and management activities. Mitchell founded the firm in 2011 and it is based in El Segundo with offices in Orange County and Scottsdale, AZ. Ross earned a Bachelor of Commerce in real estate from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, and a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California. Additionally, he holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute. Mitchell has been a speaker at the University of Southern California (USC) Lusk School for Real Estate, is actively involved with USC as a mentor for graduate real estate students, and has served as a board member of the USC School of Policy, Planning and Development’s alumni board.
