The Autism Community in Action (TACA), a national nonprofit organization, was honored to receive a $25,000 contribution from William S. Anderson on behalf of the Anderson Stewart Family Foundation. The funds will serve as a matching gift opportunity and will launch the organization’s year-end fundraising campaign in support of TACA’s mission to provide education, support and hope to families living with autism with the vision for every individual diagnosed with autism to lead an independent life.
“We are truly grateful to Mr. Anderson for his generous gift that will help to generate additional funds at a time when it is greatly needed. Once a rare disability, autism is now the fastest growing development disability in the United States with 1 in 54 children diagnosed with this devastating neurological disability. In addition, COVID-19 has greatly added to the struggle by increasing the challenges families affected by autism face every day.” says Lisa Ackerman, TACA Co-Founder and Executive Director.
“I respect the work TACA does to provide support and resources to parents of children with autism. TACA is dedicated to strengthening the autism community and empowering parents to help their children reach their full potential,” said Anderson, Topa Equities Ltd. Executive Chairman.
The Anderson family has a long philanthropic history supporting educational, healthcare, and other community-based organizations to improve the lives of those in need.
