Description
Grounded in the protections of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, this presentation equips parents to move beyond accepting what a school district offers and instead strategically strengthen their child’s IEP. Tim Adams, Esq. breaks down what a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) truly requires and how to apply the law to your child’s specific circumstances.
Parents will learn why thorough assessments are the foundation of any effective IEP, how and when to request Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs), and how independent experts can help redesign a program that better meets their child’s needs. The session also outlines practical advocacy strategies, negotiation steps, basic due-process principles, and when alternative placements may be appropriate.
Families will leave with greater clarity, confidence, and a roadmap for transforming a struggling IEP into an individualized, ambitious one designed for meaningful progress.
Monthly Learning ACTION is an optional, paid add-on created for parents who want deeper guidance, clearer direction, and practical next steps they can apply in real life. We know IEP meetings can feel overwhelming, and our goal is to replace uncertainty with clarity, confidence, and strategy.
