Racer Buster Bennet and Wife Jennifer to Help Develop an NC Chapter for TACA

press_release_default_photo

Concord, NC – Racecar driver Buster Bennet and wife Jennifer Bennet are working to organize a North Carolina Chapter for TACA – Talk About Curing Autism. TACA provides information, resources, and support to families affected by autism. For families who have just received the autism diagnosis, TACA aims to speed up the cycle time from the autism diagnosis to effective treatments. TACA helps to strengthen the autism community by connecting families and the professionals who can help them, allowing them to share stories and information to help people with autism be the best they can be. Jennifer is the organizer behind the TACA Chapter effort and the couple hopes to raise awareness and funds for the Chapter. When Buster is racing, Jennifer will be on hand at his races with other volunteers to help spread the word and accept donations.

“We are in the beginning stages of forming the Chapter and all funds raised will go to TACA to be used for the NC Chapter.” Says Buster. “As many of you know, our son Trae, who is 7, is on the autism spectrum and Jennifer and I feel very strongly about helping others on their journey.”

The Bennets will be utilizing all of Buster’s racing and promotions on all levels to support and build the NC Chapter for TACA, including any late model events he will be running with the UARA- Stars Series in the future, as well as his NASCAR Nationwide Series program that he is in the process of putting into place.

“When we saw that TACA did not have an NC Chapter, we just knew in our hearts we were called to do this,” says Buster. “My family has been able to experience the outpouring of love, support, and generosity that comes from the racing community. Now we feel it’s time to share and spread that out to other families in North Carolina that have children affected by autism – through racing with TACA. Based on membership, North Carolina needs a Chapter to serve local families and our goal is to start helping in early 2011.”
