The Autism Community in Action (TACA) is proud to announce the appointment of Cheryl Foster to TACA’s Board of Directors.
“We are excited to include Cheryl to the TACA Board. Cheryl brings to our board her unique talents to support TACA’s mission to provide education, support, and hope to families living with autism,” said Lisa Ackerman, TACA Executive Director.
Foster’s commitment to advocating for athletes and their families began over 30 years ago when her children participated in youth league sports. With a focus on diverse populations, she has worked to provide educational opportunities through scholarships for young athletes in underserved communities and hosted football camps for children with special needs. In addition to counseling high school football players to become mentors and be positive life examples for younger student-athletes.
Through her Sports Mom Parenting Boot Camp, Foster has led workshops for incoming National Football League (NFL) players and their families. She is an active member of the Professional Football Players Mothers Association, Inc. (PFPMA). The organization is a support system and network for the mothers of active and retired professional football players. Over 18 years she has served as Reginal Coordinator, National Events Coordinator, and currently Education Coordinator.
Foster is a strong advocate for TACA and has been a supporter for more than 11 years joining the Ante Up for Autism committee in 2022.
The Autism Community in Action (TACA) is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2000 with the mission to provide education, support, and hope to families living with autism. Headquartered in Irvine, CA with staff and volunteers working across the country, TACA offers: Free educational meetings, parent mentorship program, an online Hope and Help support group, an annual National Autism Conference, and a free Autism Journey Guide given to newly diagnosed families.
