TACA Iowa holds Autism Learning Seminars, Coffee Talks and family events throughout the year. Our seminars feature educational speakers on important topics for ASD families. Our Coffee Talks and family events provide more settings where families can informally network, share resources and speak with seasoned parents.

Jon Ahrendsen MD is a Board Certified Family Physician who practices the full scope of family medicine from newborns & obstetrics to nursing home & hospice, in Clarion Iowa at Iowa Specialty Hospital Family Practice Clinic since 1985. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa and trained in Family Medicine at Broadlawns in Des Moines from 1982-1985. He also serves as the director of the local hospice, is an FAA and DOT medical examiner, and a MAPS physician. He serves on the State of Iowa PA board, and volunteers as a sideline doctor for the local high school during football season. He is married to Becky and they have 3 children; Dr. Andrea McLaughlin, Dr. Elizabeth Dupic, and Karl Ahrendsen, a graduate student in physics. The majority of his clinical work now is the evaluation and management of children and adults with ADD/ADHD and ASD.
