Version 1

  • 4 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Place apples, sugar and cinnamon in pan, cover and cook on low heat.  The apples will excrete liquid to make the sugar into a sauce.  Stir occasionally.  Do not brown.

Serves 4

Version 2

I make these in bulk (10 bushels at a time) and then can them, but you can make them with as little as one apple. People describe this as “apple pie in a jar”.  Yum! – Holly B.

  • Apples
  • agave, honey or organic sugar
  • cinnamon

Peel apples, core and slice.  Mix with sweetener of your choice and add cinnamon.  Cook on very low with cover until soft.  Do not brown.   Serve warm or cold.  Perfect with a scoop of GFCFSF vanilla ice cream.
