The Autism Community in Action (TACA) Names Dianne Chaves as Program Director

IRVINE, Calif. (June 24, 2021) – The Autism Community in Action (TACA) announced Dianne Chaves has joined the organization as Program Director to oversee and lead TACA’s Autism Education Program including the Empowerment and Support Initiatives. With more than 15 years of experience in education, non-profit management and community organizing, Chaves will provide strategic guidance to the national program staff and chapter volunteers in 30 states.

Previously, Chaves was the founding principal of Bronx Lighthouse College Prep Academy in Bronx, N.Y. In a short period, Chaves increased the first-year promotion rate from 68 percent to 92 percent and achieved 89 percent matriculation to 4-year colleges and universities. In addition, she has extensive experience as a leadership coach, mentoring school leaders to implement research-based techniques. 

Chaves is a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and earned a Master of Education from Chestnut Hill College in Pa. She resides with her husband and two sons in Irvine, Calif.
